Your Coach
Warren Boardley
Head Boxing Coach & Director of Gym Operations
Coach Warren Boardley brings decades of boxing experience and a philosophy that extends far beyond the ring. Under his guidance, athletes learn fundamentals, discipline, and life skills — whether they're pursuing fitness, competition, or personal growth.
"Boxing is the discipline, but life is the real lesson." — Warren Boardley
Coaching & Legacy
Built on 70 years of Baltimore boxing.
The Mack Lewis gym was founded in 1951 by Mr. Mack Lewis — a Baltimore boxer who believed the sport could change the trajectory of a young person's life. Decades later, that belief still drives everything that happens inside these walls.
Head Coach Warren Boardley leads both youth and adult programs with the same philosophy: boxing is the discipline, life is the real lesson. Athletes who train here learn respect, accountability, and what it means to put in the work — regardless of whether they ever step into a competition ring.
The gym's lineage includes athletes who have competed at elite amateur and professional levels. Notable boxers connected to the East Baltimore boxing community trained in gyms like this one — including Hasim Rahman, Vincent Pettway, and Larry Middleton.
